Replacing Halo's on Front Seats. (GT Model)

The following How To shows how to remove and reinstall the Halo's on the front seats of your 1985 Mustang GT. The Halo's are the headrest portion of your seats. Most models have a small round horizontal headrest but the GT model has a larger headrest with a cut out in the middle.

 Removal:

• Unzip the top seat cover from at the bottom of the top portion of the seat. This will be where it folds when leaning it forward.
• Reach up with one hand. You will feel the metal shaft. There is a piece of sheet metal that locks it in place.
• Push the headrest down, wedge your thumb between the headrest shaft and the metal lock, then pull the headrest out.

Re-Installation:

• Slide the Halo back into the top of the seat.
• Slide it all the way down.
• The metal lock will engage once the Halo is inserted all the way down.
